This week we celebrated Halloween with the painting of our class pumpkin, the Halloween dance, Orange and Black day, and the kinder costume parade!
Yesterday we also celebrated all Saints day and today we celebrate all Souls day.
Can someone please tell me where the last 6 weeks have gone? It has been so incredibly busy in our homeroom lately, and we have accomplished so much!! I have a gallery of photos I've popped in below.
Let me just outline in short what you're seeing to give you all some context...
La Journée Franco-Ontarienne: A few weeks back we celebrated Franco-Ontarien day school-wide over the course of a whole week! My class had a chance to listen to Franco-Ontarien music, learn about the importance of speaking and learning French in Ontario, and even creating our own Franco-Ontarienne Flags to decorate our French Hallway.
Cuire des Scones aux Pommes: Last Thursday, just before Thanksgiving, our 5/6 Immersion class had a chance to make and bake apple scones! A big Thank you to all for your apple donations! Though only 10/25 of our apples were used for this activity, we discussed and decided as a class, that we could donate the remainder of the Apples to the front office, where they could benefit students without snacks. We received a big thank you from Ms. Fundarek at the office for this thoughtfulness, so again, Thank you for your donations!
Auto-bio Poeme et Portrait: My students have put their creative talents to use over the last 2 weeks in writing their very own poems about themselves. This was complemented by the design of a self portrait! We are currently wrapping up our presentations during our "Cafe de Poesie". Once all of our poems/portraits are up on the hall walls, I'll be sure to update you here with a few photos!
School Bus Safety: Recently, students attended a school-wide school bus safety presentation in the gym. This was an interactive presentation, where a few of my homeroom friends were even chosen to participate as contestants. Good work 5/6!
Week two has us working on two projects in our Immersion class... "Les Noms en 3D", a 3D Art challenge, as well as an Autobio Poeme, both of which we hope to have completed for parents to see at this Thursdays Program Night! I'll also be sure to post a photo once our work is completed, but for now here a few snaps of my class hard at work!
Woah - where did our first week back go? We had such a wonderful first week of school, concluded by our very first liturgy of the year this past Friday. Here are some photos from our Homeroom FSL activities this past week; we have set some goals for our learning this year, and even had a chance to do some team building with our new table mates. Flip through the photos below to see more!
