Thank you to all who joined our various activities over Education week, last week. From participating in Clean up the Capital, Sandwich making for Shepherds of Good Hope this morning, and the muffin breakfast, and the school wide Easter Mass. A big thank you to the parents and volunteers who came to join us - we loved having you in our class and in the school!
This week we started our Music Unit in our homeroom class. We were even brave enough to pull out the ukuleles and start learning about different strings and chords!
We will be continuing to practice our hand at playing the ukulele over the next couple months.
Thank you for stopping by!
These past few weeks leading up to March break have been jam-packed. Take a look at some of our accomplishments (and activities) as of late, which include: Completing and Presenting our Science Powtoons on Structure (Gr.5), a glimpse at our weekly Art Challenge: Un Craque dans le Mur and our Skate day from last week!
Some students also took the opportunity to watch a live screening of Justin Trudeau's National School Assembly on Space that took place last week on February 28th at City Hall - thank you to those who joined me at noon hour for this!
Lastly, I'd like to take a moment to shine a light on a few of our St. Dominic students, as well as a former Graduate, on their success in the Legion Remembrance Day Poster Competition. These students were awarded certificates and plaques by Matthew Luloff.
Congratulations on your accomplishments and best of luck on the provincial levels Sienna, Fiona, Griffin and Charlotte!
Our plans to hit the local skating rink yesterday were changed after receiving quite a bit of snow the night prior. We decided as a class that we would plan for an alternate date next week (so keep an eye on those Agenda's), and we continued our Science units on Space (Gr.6) and Structures (Gr.5).
Knowing that the rink was not yet plowed, we headed over just before recess for a few extra minutes of play before recess. Though we couldn't skate, we had a great time in the snow with the mild weather!
It's Badminton week! The girls and boys teams have both worked so hard giving up their lunch recess' over the past few weeks...and it all culminates this week! The girls team competed today on home turf with a successful day of games! Way to go Dragons!
Welcome to our class blog!
